Cookie Policy
How Toolsy uses cookies and similar technologies.
Contents
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Similar technologies (local storage, session identifiers on our servers) may be used for the same purposes. This Cookie Policy explains how Toolsy (toolsy.tools) uses them and supplements our Privacy Policy.
It is intended to meet UK requirements under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR for information and consent where required.
2. Cookies we use
2.1 Strictly necessary — required for the service to work. These do not require consent under PECR:
- Session —
toolsy_sessionkeeps you signed in (about 30 days, or until you log out). - OAuth state — short-lived cookies during Google sign-in to protect the authentication flow.
- Consent record —
toolsy_ccand local storage keytoolsy_cookie_consentremember whether you accepted or declined analytics so we do not re-prompt unnecessarily. - Infrastructure / security cookies that our host or CDN may set to deliver the site safely.
2.2 Preferences — your cookie choice is stored as above. Product preferences that are not cookies (for example favourites for signed-in users) are accounted for under the Privacy Policy.
2.3 Analytics (optional) — only if you accept analytics in the banner. See section 3.
2.4 Marketing / advertising cookies — not used as of this Policy’s date. If we add them, we will update this page and ask for separate consent.
3. Analytics
We may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand traffic and improve the product. The analytics script is not loaded until you choose to accept analytics. If you select “Necessary only”, analytics stay off.
When enabled, GA4 may process approximate location, device/browser information, page views, and a client identifier. Google’s privacy materials apply in addition to ours: policies.google.com/privacy.
Analytics consent is separate from account registration and from accepting the Terms for using tools.
4. Legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies: providing the service you request / legitimate interests in security and session integrity. Optional analytics cookies: your consent via the banner (PECR). You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting core Toolsy features.
6. How to manage
Use the banner or your browser settings to delete or block cookies. Blocking all cookies may break sign-in. You may also use browser tracking protection or extensions; those are outside our control.
See also the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
7. Retention
- Session cookie — up to about 30 days from sign-in, or until logout.
- Consent choice — up to 12 months, or until you change/revoke it.
- Analytics cookies — according to Google’s configuration if you have accepted analytics (often up to 1–2 years for identifiers).
8. Changes
We update this Cookie Policy when our technologies change. Current version: https://toolsy.tools/cookies. Questions: hello@toolsy.tools. Last updated: 25 August 2026.
