Dynamic QR code
FavoriteMake a dynamic QR code, then change the link after you print it. Scan counts included. Pro feature on Toolsy.
After you create a code, open Account → My QR codes to change the destination or see scan counts. Need a one-off code with no edits? Use the free QR generator.
How it works
- 1
Set the destination
Where the code should point today: menu, promo, landing. Add a label for yourself if you like.
- 2
Create the QR
We give you a short toolsy.tools/q/… link and an image. Download PNG or SVG.
- 3
Change it later
In your account, change where the link goes and see scan counts — no reprint.
A normal QR locks one URL into the picture forever. Change the menu, end a promo, or fix a typo, and you reprint.
A dynamic QR code encodes a short Toolsy link (toolsy.tools/q/…). You choose where it opens and can change it later. The printed square stays the same.
You also see how many times each code was scanned. Included with Pro. The free static generator stays free.
Need more room?
Pro lifts daily file caps. Plus adds keyword research when you outgrow free checks.

Other tools
What is a dynamic QR code?
A static QR stores the destination inside the image. After print, that address is fixed.
A dynamic QR code on Toolsy uses a short redirect. You pick today’s URL and can change it tomorrow. Guests still scan the same printed code.
Your account lists every code: label, current link, status, and scan count.
If the URL will never change, the free QR code generator is enough. Use a dynamic QR code when the print lasts longer than the page behind it.

Common questions
What is a dynamic QR code?
A dynamic QR code lets you change the link later. The printed code stays the same.
Can I edit a dynamic QR code after printing?
Yes. Update the link in Account → My QR codes. The same printed square still works.
How many dynamic QR codes can I make?
Up to 50 per Pro account. Create on this page; manage them in your account.
Does a dynamic QR code track scans?
Yes. Your account shows how many times each code was opened.
Is the free QR still free if I use a dynamic QR code?
Yes. Link, Wi‑Fi, contact, email, and SMS QR stay free. Dynamic QR is part of Pro (and Plus).
What if I cancel Pro after making a dynamic QR code?
You cannot edit destinations or create new codes. Existing codes keep redirecting for about 120 days, then the short link stops.
